Gave our official YES!!!
Friday morning we had our phone staff meeting for "P". It included us, our caseworker, "P's" caseworker, his foster mom, & their CPS supervisor & a couple of other people who O can't remember who they were but they never talked. :). Foster mom told us more about "P" like his personality, behavior, likes, dislikes, daily routine, health issues, education, etc. We had several questions we were able to ask & get answered. Usually they wait 24 hours after the meeting to get an official answer & then discuss visitation & placement plans but they knew our hearts already so we went ahead & came up with a plan for visits & placement. We still had to give an official yes the next day though. ;) They like to do placement the end of the month for the subsidy payments to go in effect the beginning of the next month which it looks as though "P" will be approved to receive. Yay! So, our game plan is that on April 19th, James & I will get to visit "P" in his foster home for a couple of hours. The next day we will take him, Gage, & Madison for a few hours to do something fun together as a family. We have decided it would be too much to have Autumn there so they will meet when he come to do his overnight with us. On Sunday we may get to see him again before we head back home. The next weekend "P" will come to our house on Friday for his overnight visits. Monday his social worker will do the official placement & he will stay with us forever! Eek!!! I'm so excited & nervous at the same time. I know it's going to be a rough adjustment on all of us, mostly on "P". He is 5 years old but developmentally like a 3 year old so he does not understand the entire adoption concept. He is extremely attached to his foster mom so it is going to be really hard on him. He plan to keep her has a grandmother figure in his life & will allow him to keep contact with her as long as it benefits him & does not make it too hard for him. I can't believe it's finally coming after all this time of waiting & praying...God is so good!
